Policy Aims
The activities of GMPTE and public transport providers have an effect on the environment. Our policy highlights GMPTE's commitment to continual improvement in environmental performance.
The aims of the policy are:
- To improve the quality and sustainability of public transport services, and encourage modal shift, by improving the environmental quality for users of public transport
- To improve GMPTE's internal environmental performance
To achieve these aims, GMPTE will:
- Work with transport operators and district councils to improve the environment by reducing local air pollution
- Work with operators to help tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions
- Contribute to sustainable development
- Improve the organisations internal environmental performance
