Throughout 2024, planned improvement works will take place across the tram network.
These works will affect various different lines, and will be summarised below.
For the majority of the improvement works, a replacement bus service will be operating to help you continue your journey.
If you are travelling on any of the dates listed below, please plan ahead and allow plenty of time for your journey.

Temporary service change
Due to a cracked rail on the approach to Victoria station, there is a temporary service change to the tram network.
-
No trams will operate between Victoria and Exchange Square until the track crossing is replaced. The track manufacturer and TfGM are working to establish a date for this.
-
From the start of service on Monday 12 February, the East Didsbury-Shaw and Crompton service will operate between East Didsbury and Exchange Square only. There will be no peak service between Shaw and Crompton and Exchange Square.
Victoria engineering works
On Monday 6 May, work will take place at Victoria.
The essential work will impact the Bury and, Oldham and Rochdale lines, with trams terminating at Queens Road and Monsall respectively. In addition, the Airport line will only operate to Cornbrook.
A bus replacement service will run between the affected stops and the city centre, while all other lines retain access to the city.
